Our People

Patane Produce is owned and operated by Michael and Pennie Patane, a 3rd generation farming family from the South West region of Western Australia.

Michael Patane (Director, Shareholder and General Manager)

As part of a potato farming family, Michael Patane has spent almost all his life involved in the growing of potatoes. He became a producer in his own right in the early nineties on a property in the Donnybrook area, before moving to Myalup to facilitate his ambitions of expansion and to develop greater diversity in his product range.

Since then the business has expanded to include the growing of Carrots, Broccoli & Onions. Initially all produce was sold in bulk to packers or processors but it soon became apparent that value adding by washing, packing and marketing, was more beneficial to the business in controlling quality and creating a reputation for reliability and excellence in produce.

In addition to his skills in agricultural production, Michael's experience, acquired from washing, packing and distribution of vegetables over the past 10 years is supported by his work prior to establishing his own business. Michael manages the day to day operations of the farms and pack houses, from crop planning and ground preparation to transport operations.

Pennie Patane (Director, Shareholder and Admin Manager)

With 17 years experience in the banking and finance industry: 13 years of which was in a management capacity, Pennie is ideally qualified to manage and administer Patane Produce.

Administration

To support Patane's administration, two full time clerical staff are employed, one of whom is dedicated to the delivery of the Quality Assurance programme.

Pack House Supervisors

A highly experienced team of Supervisors directs personnel within the packing sheds.

General Shed Personnel

Patane's current shed workforce ranges from 15-20 personnel, with 6 full time permanent employees and the balance sourced from overseas casuals, employed on six monthly contracts. This facilitates a steady, well trained working group who are able to meet strict quality standards.
